There are a few different forms of bibliotherapy.  The word comes from a composite of 'biblio' meaning books and therapy meaning 'a treatment intended to relieve or heal a disorder'.  Literature has the power to do this.

Shared Reading Circles are one form of bibliotherapy.  At each session a poem, short story or piece of prose is read out and then, lead by the Host, a discussion about the issues from the text.

Bibliotherapy does not have to be carried out in groups.  One on one bibliotherapy is a different form of the same thing.

To Turn A Page offers this form of bibliotherapy and can be read about here.
