International Women's Day (8 March)

Next Friday 8 March 2019 is International Women's Day. This day always reminds me of the time, in the early 1980's when I started to become more politically aware. I had moved out of my parent's home and was living the independent life I had always dreamed of. I could do what I liked, when I liked, within reason, and was much happier making these decisions for myself. Part of my new found independence was making my own friends. New Shared Reading Groups

Last week saw the start of two new Shared Reading Groups in Woodend and Lancefield. Both groups went really well. A good start; we can build from here. If you would like to come along to either group please just turn up. It does not matter that you have missed a week or two. There is no cost and no booking required. Shared Reading is a simple idea that brings people together in a shared, safe space to read. It is for everyone. It requires no homework or pre-reading, and the discussion about the text is kept on track by the Host.
