New Service - One on one bibliotherapy

Bibliotherapy is a term composited from 'biblio' meaning books and therapy meaning a treatment intended to relieve or heal a disorder. It is an ancient form of healing dating back to the high days of the Greeks. Libraries were seen as places to learn, think and salve.
Bibliotherapy today comes in different forms. Shared Reading Circles offer a group session with one piece of text at each session. One on one bibliotherapy offers a directed way to look at an issue in life anew, or can give directed reading on a particular subject.
To Turn A Page offers one on one bibliotherapy.
What can it do for you?
Bibliotherapy can assist with depression, mild anxiety, low mood, PTSD. If you are grieving, having family issues, or if you want to be more self-aware bibliotherapy can assist. It is often used in conjunction with more conventional forms of therapy but it is reported to add another layer to that therapy. (www.goodtherapy.org).
